چکیده

patients are asymptomatic.1 The syndrome of subclavian steal caused by an occlusive lesion of the aberrant subclavian artery is a rare clinical finding.1-4 This syndrome results from the abnormal flow of blood due to the occlusion in the subclavian artery proximal to the origin of the vertebral artery. Blood flow through the vertebral artery is consequently reversed and the subclavian one thus »steals« cerebral blood. The syndrome of partial subclavian steal, caused by the stenotic lesion of the aberrant artery, has not been described in literature yet. Subclavian fusiform aneurysm causing partial subclavian steal syndrome. Case report.

We present a 55-year-old man with repeated transient symptoms of vertebrobasilar arterial pathology. Physical examination detected no signs that would indicate the stenosis of the proximal subclavian artery segment. Ultrasound detected hemodynamic disorder of right vertebral artery, which correspond to a partial subclavian steal syndrome. Angiography shows fusiform aneurysm of ipsilateral subcl...

Anomalous right subclavian artery and coarctation of the aorta. Surgical implications and the use of the right subclavian artery as a flap.

Coarctation of the aorta was repaired surgically in a 4 month old boy using the anomalous right subclavian artery as a flap. The role of the anomalous artery in providing collateral flow to the descending aorta should be determined so that injudicious clamping is avoided.

Ipsilateral subclavian steal in association with aberrant origin of the left vertebral artery from the aortic arch.

Five cases are reported of left subclavian steal syndrome associated with anomalous origin of the left vertebral artery from the aortic arch. In all five instances blood flow at the origin of the left vertebral artery was in an antegrade direction contrary to that usually reported in this condition. The distal subclavian artery was supplied via an extensive collateral network of vessels connect...

An unusual cause of ischemia after coronary bypass grafting!!

Coronary subclavian steal syndrome is an uncommon cause of ischemia recurrence after coronary artery bypass grafting. Endovascular treatment of subclavian artery stenosis or occlusion is increasingly common and appears to offer a safe and effective alternative to surgical revascularization. We report a case of recurrent angina after coronary artery bypass grafting for critical subclavian artery...

Arch of aorta with bi-carotid trunk, left subclavian artery, and retroesophageal right subclavian artery.

We report a case of left sided aortic arch with three branches - a bi-carotid trunk, left subclavian, artery and right subclavian artery. The anomalous right subclavian artery presented a retroesophageal course. A right non-recurrent laryngeal nerve was noticed. The embryonic development of this branching pattern is discussed.
